My own experience with therapy was transformative and led me to pursue a career in mental health. I have always been passionate about helping people and supporting them in the challenges that life can bring. I particularly enjoy connecting people to resources and encouraging them in their personal growth.
I love ocean swimming, outdoor activities, reading, watching movies, puzzles, and spending time with my husband and adult sons.
Move my body, go for a walk, a swim, a bike ride, lift weights, or Hatha yoga.
Healing the Child Within by Charles L. Whitfield. I read it when I first entered therapy and it is still so helpful. I learned about childhood wounding and my “true self” vs. my “false self”.
Feed My Starving Children! Volunteers (individuals, groups, families) get together and pack special ingredient meals into boxes that are sent all over the world to feed children who are suffering from malnutrition.
Each morning, I grab a cup of coffee, sit in my favorite chair, and listen to my morning meditation on my headphones. I really enjoy getting up while it's still dark and watching the sunrise.
Yes, I have one cat, a feisty little boy named Demetrius who loves to lay happily in your lap. When he was little he would eat so fast, and then spew, I had to get special “feeding mats” to slow him down!
