Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Harm reduction, Motivational interviewing (MI), Solution-focused, Strengths-based
My therapeutic approach is based on a person-centered model that respects each individual has inherent knowledge about themselves and strengths that can be utilized in therapy to foster improved mental health. Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing are foundational principles in my practice as change is hard and rarely a linear process so small tangible steps are key. My therapeutic approach has been informed by over a decade of working closely with those with complex trauma, and I believe making a connection with the folks I am privileged to serve is a primary task of successful therapy.
