Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional because I've been in a client's shoes before. Knowing the difficulties and the emotional pain one can experience is a deeply shared experience, and I wanted to shift my experiences into one where I can now give back and be empathetic to those who are in need of mental health services.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love to spend time with my dog, my partner, listen to music, play a game, or go on a vacation. I also am currently back in school, working on my doctorate degree.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. This book spoke volumes to me because it addresses topics such as grief and loss, and the character goes through phases of adjustment where she has to learn to relieve her life again. It really helped to process the meaning of life, to not take for granted being present and how we can develop a sense of control, even if it means restarting and building up new from different changes.

How do you recharge?

I enjoy escaping into video games and I love to sing!
