Therapy Style

I specialize in working with anxiety and depression, and specifically the perinatal population. This includes the process of getting pregnant and adoption, pregnancy loss, pregnancy termination, birth trauma, adjusting to the postpartum period and becoming a parent. I use a Humanistic approach to therapy which values you as a whole person full of your own wisdom and strengths. I use a variety of modalities including; Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I've always had the desire to help people heal and feel empowered.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and three sweet little boys, thrift shopping, home design, eating and always learning.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I stop and listen to what my body needs.

What book have you read more than once?

Pema Chodron's When Things Fall Apart. This book has offered me much support when going through challenging times in my life.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Postpartum Support International for all they do for reproductive mental health.

How do you recharge?

I love a nap and an early bedtime.

Do you have any pets?

I have a large orange cat. He loves me and hates me at the same time.
