I have been fortunate to have had ample opportunities to work with a variety of populations in my individual, couples, group, and family work. These experiences have been bolstered by my work with people from a wide diaspora of backgrounds in academia over the last 7+ years.
My approach is collaborative in nature and I bring a mix of hope, encouragement, humor, and earnestness to this critical work to help others heal. Many of my past patients and clients have noted that they feel 'safe' and 'comfortable' working with me along with noting that they have the freedom and respect they deserve in navigating uncertain times in their respective lives.

I engage in a variety of interests to keep my mental and physical life sharp and fulfilled. I dote on my 16 nieces and nephews throughout the year, while volunteering as a youth basketball coach during timeframes that do not interfere with my work commitments. I listen to several podcasts that are outside of my professional practice to stay informed on societal and regional matters. I continue to add to my 80's Music Video YouTube channel to add to my ever-expanding playlist.
I engage in a guided imagery practice from 1-2 times daily to help myself manage my screen time (post-COVID) and to actively recall travel memories that have been uplifting and positively memorable in my lifetime.
Bessel Van Der Kolk's The Body Keeps the Score is one that I return to almost annually. In order to stay trauma-informed in my work, it helps to review one of the seminal works in the field of trauma treatment.
I maintain a sleep hygiene regimen that ensures that I can sleep 7.5-8.5 hours at least five nights a week. I take the month of October each year from my private practice to recharge and travel while preparing to support people through the tough holidays. It is my personal goal to attend games in every professional sports stadium before it's time for me to leave the planet (MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA) - I'm about 53% of the way there!
