Therapy Style

My therapeutic approach involves, first and foremost, the development of a trusting relationship between myself and my clients. This is the foundation for the work that we will do together. We will work together to develop goals and a pathway to reach those goals. I employ an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities to individualize treatment for each client. This may include aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and relaxation activities, Harm Reduction for substance use, psychodynamic approaches, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and others. Treatment is Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based with the use of assessments and scales to measure your successes!

What are your interests outside of work?

I like traveling and exploring new places. I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes, and love spending time with my family.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I try to get outside every day no matter what the weather is like. The fresh air, sunshine, and moving my body are an integral part of my day.

What book have you read more than once?

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Every time I have read it I have noticed and realized things I didn't notice the time previously!

Favorite organization/non-profit?

The Quell Foundation. They work to decrease stigma about mental health issues and increase assess to mental health services. They do so by encouraging the sharing of personal stories to inspire hope!

How do you recharge?

I take time to enjoy the little things—a walk in the park, a nice meal, laughing, and playing with my children!

Do you have any pets?

We have a long haired mid size dachshund named Arby. He was named after a dachshund that made a guest appearance on the show Paw Patrol. He is super lovable and sweet, but barks way too much!
