Therapy Style

I have experience working in both private practice and school-based mental health settings. I have experience and a passion for working with adults through individual therapy while incorporating art. Art Therapy can give voice to my client’s inner thoughts and feelings that they may not have the words for. It is an expressive experience that can assist my clients with self-awareness and help highlight their resiliency and insight.

I am an eclectic therapist but base my approach from a client-centered perspective. I believe in providing a safe space, genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard in order for clients to explore and express themselves freely. I aim to assist my clients in finding their strength and empower them in order to create the changes they desire. As a first-generation American of Latinx immigrants, I am culturally aware and sensitive to the hardships this population may experience. I am also bilingual and offer sessions in Spanish.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became an art therapist after being introduced to it by an expressive therapies convention. It highlighted the ways I utilized art in my own personal experience with my mental health struggles at the time without knowing art therapy existed. It combined my artistic skills and desire to help others.

What are your interests outside of work?

My interests include music, learning about crystals and tarot cards.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I partake in my own personal therapy and incorporate mindfulness meditations at the end of my day.

Do you have any pets?

I have 3 cats. All three of my cats are rescues that I took in from the street and offered them a safe space and nurse them back to health.
