Therapy Style

Hello! My name is Dr. Jonathan Feinberg, and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in the San Diego area, but I provide therapy throughout California via telehealth. My primary modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I am always open to adjusting my approach to the needs of my clients. I enjoy helping people overcome their challenges by providing an empathic presence and helping them develop healthy behaviors, try new things, and view their situation from a new angle.

I strive to provide my clients with a comfortable space to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. With my background as a neuropsychologist and a psychotherapist, I have particular expertise in working with clients who struggle with forgetfulness, distractibility, and sleep issues.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always wanted to have a career that allows me to help people on a one-on-one basis. My background in neuropsychology also has allowed me to continue my love of learning about the brain and how it works!

What are your interests outside of work?

I love spending time with my spouse and toddler, especially when going hiking or spending time at the beach.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I try to end my day by stretching to calm my body and mind down. It helps me unwind after a long day.

How do you recharge?

By spending quiet time with family or spending time alone either reading a book or listening to an audiobook or comedy podcast.
