Therapy Style

I entered into the therapy world and continue to strive to create a non-judgmental environment for my clients that promotes hope, healing, and self-improvement. I enjoy supporting my clients through challenging times and providing new and creative ways to meet goals. While I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); I am most drawn to practicing person-centered and strength-based therapy styles due to my concentration on self-worth and awareness. I truly know that stepping into a world of vulnerability with an unknown person can be a tremendous challenge and uncomfortable. I also believe that the potential benefits of taking on this challenge can prove beneficial in many ways. I hope to serve others with the skills that I have sharpened throughout my career to foster happiness and well-being.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I strive to bring self-awareness and hope to those who are struggling. I believe self-awareness and feeling as though you have options and choices to create a better life can bring endless results. I enjoy normalizing the feeling of struggling in ALL walks of life and ensuring they know there is no shame in "not having it all together".

What are your interests outside of work?

Running, cooking, reading, playing with my kids, and traveling.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Listen to music and meditate.

What book have you read more than once?

Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus and White Fragility; brings awareness to different thinking, backgrounds, perspectives, and struggles. Get out of your own way; sometimes we don't realize just how much potential or barriers we cause for ourselves.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

St. Jude's Children's Hospital helps SO many families with care and love at no charge (because why should that be the barrier to saving your most precious possession…your child)

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have a beautiful husky :) he is my baby and best running and traveling buddy! We have run many marathons together.
