My emphasis is promoting wellness to the whole person noting that any positive change radiates to all facets of life.

My Therapy Style

First of all, I recognize that reaching out for help can be challenging for some and I applaud and appreciate people who can reach out for help when they need it. I think everyone is on some sort of wellness journey and I feel honored to be a part of that with my clients.

Although I am trained in many treatment approaches, I recognize that not all treatment approaches work for all people. So I talk with clients to learn about their strengths and challenges and help them to create strategies that best meet their individual strengths, challenges and desires for their lives. My emphasis is promoting wellness to the whole person noting that any positive change radiates to all facets of life.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I think mostly because I am a compassionate person… the quote from Ram Dass comes to mind. "We're all just walking each other home."

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy reading, riding bikes, disc golf, and playing with doggies.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Qigong, EFT, and walks.

What book have you read more than once?

To Kill a Mockingbird is one that I have read a few times. I think because I love all of the characters. I've reread Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy a few times due to the protagonists strength and I found the alternate worlds fascinating.

How do you recharge?

I recharge by spending time with my wife riding bikes and playing disc golf and cooking new recipes together and playing with the doggies.

Do you have any pets?

My dog Snert actually learned how to play catch as well as fetch. She was such a good buddy. She would also close the door behind me when I asked when my hands were full.
