Why did you become a mental health professional?

I was looking for a profession to combine my fascination for psychology and my desire to help people, which led me to obtain my bachelor's degree in psychology. While in school, I learned about the gaps in the mental health system and the need for mental health counselors. That realization solidified my intention to pursue further education and become a licensed therapist.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy yoga, gardening, meditation, energy healing, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Daily meditative practice, affirmations, and healthy eating.

What book have you read more than once?

I have many but one of them is The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. I read it quite a few times and will probably read it several more times pondering the philosophical underpinnings of the legend of the thorn bird.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I contribute to and support local CASA.

How do you recharge?

A cup of hot tea, a good book, and several deep breaths help me calibrate. Taking walks and ensuring restful sleep is an integral part of my daily routine.

Do you have any pets?

I have a lovely dog called Leila. She is my greatest motivator to go for daily walks and has been bringing a lot of joy to our family since she became a family member five years ago.
