How we perceive something will directly impact our emotional and behavioral responses.

My Therapy Style

How we perceive something will directly impact our emotional and behavioral responses. Learning to understand the process of perception will offer ongoing opportunities for an individual to enact change in his or her life. In my practice, I draw from my intensive training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to teach these fundamental skills to clients and help them to achieve their goals.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always loved talking to people and getting to know their life stories. I gravitated towards a job that constantly introduces me to new individuals and challenges me to broaden my understanding of others and see new perspectives.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love being outside with my family. Together we bike, ski, run, swim, and just play throughout the different seasons. Back inside, I enjoy baking something sweet and settling in with a good book.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Each day I engage in a mindfulness practice at least once. It may be while eating, listening to music, or exercising. I chose a moment to do "just one thing" and allow myself to feel calmer and be more centered on the present day.

How do you recharge?

I like to take time to listen to fun, upbeat music and allow the spirit of the song to re-energize me and help me to shift my focus to the positive moments of each day.
