Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

After working with children as an elementary school teacher for 8 years, and after my own therapy, I felt that I wanted to work with families, children, and adults on a different level.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love to find new places to eat. My husband loves scouting out new restaurants, street vendors, and catering trucks, and making a day event out of it.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I allow myself to have downtime. I don't have to fill every minute of my day with something to do. I choose to watch a movie, take a nap, play a video game, meditate, go for a walk, or spend time playing with my dogs. It's all good!

How do you recharge?

I like to spend time with my husband and our friends. Spending time with friends allows me to unwind, share stories, and recharge.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have four dogs at the time. My husband went to Juarez, Mexico to visit family in 2019. While visiting an aunt out on the edge of the city, he found 3 six week old puppies in a dump site. He cashed in his airplane ticket for a car and the next thing I know he is driving from Juarez to Los Angeles with a box of puppies in the back seat. We thought we were going to foster, but the pandemic hit and we fell in LOVE with them! We added the three to our two at that time. Ended up with a huge dog family :)
