I have been providing individual therapy for over 10 years across various settings in outpatient services serving different populations ranging in age. In my practice, I utilize a strengths-based cognitive approach that focuses on the specific needs of the individual. It is goal-centered therapy that allows each individual to identify their specific needs and desires throughout treatment. We will work collaboratively to help you develop your own path for treatment and I will give you tools and skills to practice in between sessions.

I have always known I wanted to be in the helping profession and learned from a young age the benefits of therapy. It's my passion to help empower people to work through their mental health struggles to promote emotional stability, acceptance, self-confidence, and perseverance with the support of a therapist.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and dog. I also love to be outdoors playing softball, jogging at the beach, enjoying a sporting event, or hiking. I find myself outside in the beautiful sunshine whenever possible. Although a slow reader, I do enjoy getting lost in a good book.
One thing I prioritize daily to help support my emotional well-being is movement. That looks different for me daily however usually includes variations of long walks, high-intensity workouts, jogging, bike rides, swimming, or strength training.
One book I have read more than once is Playing in The Box by Dr. Pete Temple. As a previous collegiate athlete, I find it imperative for one's mental game and mental health to be in check, this book has allowed me to not only assess where I'm at emotionally as I continue to incorporate athletics and movement into my life but has allowed me to empower other athletes to promote mental growth as well.
One of my favorite organizations is Urban Surf, allowing foster and at-risk youth to safely experience and explore the beaches and surfing. This organization has also allowed me to volunteer at one of the most humbling surf events for the blind. The focus of the event was to allow people with significant visual impairments to learn how to surf and give exposure to something some of these individuals would never have the opportunity to do.
I recharge by going on long walks with my husband and dog. Sunshine is a big factor in my recharging as well. Sometimes going to the beach to take in all the sounds, sights, and smells also helps me recharge and is my place of tranquility. Other forms of recharge include an occasional massage, a bath with essential oils, or sleeping in.
I have one dog whom we rescued and keeps me very active. She is part German Shepherd part Cattle Dog. One of my favorite stories of her is the first time we took her to the dog beach. She had the biggest smile as she ran through the waves with all of her new best friends. Seeing how happy and free she was enjoying the company of other dogs running through the sand and water was priceless.
