My Therapy Style

I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential to therapy. Together we will work to accomplish the goals you have for yourself. I believe that your core beliefs about yourself will impact the way you behave and feel; therefore, by considering and examining these beliefs, you can gradually alter them and consequently, alter your behaviors and emotions.

I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; however, my roots in client-centered have served me well by giving me the tools needed to build the therapeutic relationship. I am also skilled in Motivational Interviewing.

My belief is that we can all use someone to support us in processing our thoughts and feelings. It can be difficult finding time, money and energy to find the right therapist. I would love to be of service to you on your journey.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health therapist because I know the importance of being able to speak your truth without fear of judgment and criticism.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am a wife and a mom (amongst many other things) and I enjoy spending time with my family. We love traveling to the beach and spending time together by the ocean. I have dogs and cats and love animals. My pets are family. I also enjoy reading, watching crime dramas and documentaries, and working in my yard.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Every morning I have been waking up early enough to listen to a podcast that supports my mental wellness and growth and take some time for myself before the day gets going.

What book have you read more than once?

I have read Brene Brown's The Gift of Imperfection multiple times. I've read it, listened to it, and listened to a podcast about it. Brene Brown inspires me to be authentic and this book hits home every time I read (or listen) it.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite non-profit organization is PBS. PBS has been a part of my life since I was a toddler and it continues to be a staple in our home.

How do you recharge?

Most of the time, I recharge by spending time outdoors in the sun. The sun always feeds my soul and gives me renewed energy. On occasion, when I'm really tired and need to recharge, I love to take a good nap.

Do you have any pets?

Our pets are our other babies! We have dogs and cats that also get along rather well. My favorite stories right now are any stories that involve my cat, Grimm. He was a very special cat and I was his person. He would sit on the corner of the tub while I took a bath and would come when called by his name. He always knew when I needed some extra snuggles and love.
