My Therapy Style

Throughout my almost 10-year career, I have worked with individuals dealing with anxiety, managing depression, relationship struggles, and stress management. I have a relaxed, empathetic approach, and I believe that gaining rapport and trust is important in making my clients comfortable in therapy. I provide a safe, collaborative, and open space to process challenges my clients are working through. I believe in a strengths-based approach and that therapy should be specialized to the client I am working with. I utilize techniques in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always been drawn to helping others and supporting them through their different journeys. I love listening to others' stories and providing a safe space to process what they are going through.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and watching soccer.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I read almost daily, which provides an outlet for me to get lost in and decompress.

What book have you read more than once?

I loved Harry Potter growing up and have read it many times. I enjoyed the story, how the main character was always working hard for his friends and the greater good, and that he was able to overcome so much in his life and still persevere.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

PALS Programs! They are my favorite because of their mission to provide people with Down syndrome opportunities they may not otherwise have a chance to. My cousin has Down syndrome and her life has been positively impacted by PALS, so much so that I became involved and ran camps multiple summers in a row. They strive to defy labels, create safety, and have fun.

Do you have any pets?

We have a dog named Hunter. My favorite story is the day we decided to rescue him. He had been in the shelter for a few weeks and we were told he was overlooked because he didn't take pictures well. We went to meet him and he came up to his immediately and laid on his back to have his belly rubbed. We took him for a quick walk and he kept checking to see if we were still there, and from that point on he was ours.
