Therapy Style

When we endure traumatic or stressful experiences, it is very common to feel emotional distress and/or as if our world has begun to unravel. I am immensely grateful to be in a role in which I can help facilitate healing and take part in one’s journey towards recovery when these times emerge.

While I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy techniques, my therapeutic approach is highly individualized and attentive to cultural diversity. In therapy sessions, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals for treatment, tackle problems, explore/adapt your style of thinking, develop healthy coping strategies, and modify undesirable behaviors. My main goal is to facilitate change and help you move towards building a life that is most meaningful to you.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love cooking! I enjoy finding new recipes from various types of cuisines and attempting to recreate my favorite restaurant dishes. I believe that dishes can tell a story and sharing a warm, savor meals is my love language.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?

I start and end my day with a gratitude practice. It only takes me a few minutes, but the effects are long lasting. It is a practice that I often recommend and whole-heartedly believe in.

What book have you read more than once?

Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill. Yes, the classic bold, blue cover, lift-the-flap board book that you remember from your own childhood. The pages are worn from the eager hands of my first child, but still very much enjoyed by my second child who requests it daily and laughs with each page turn.

How do you recharge?

Quality time spent with good friends and family. Belly laughs, good stories, and shared words of support with these individuals are my fuel and greatest blessings.
