Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always been fascinated by the mind-body connection and the impact it has on daily well-being. By nurturing and giving attention to our mental well-being, we can more mindfully live our lives aligned with our values and feel more fulfilled.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I love to experiment with new recipes, go to the beach, exercise, and spend time with family.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Before I begin the day, I like to set my intentions so that I can start the day feeling motivated and have a plan to accomplish my tasks.

What book have you read more than once?

I have read Malcolm Gladwell’s book David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants. Someone gifted me this book and I love how this age-old true story can teach us relevant lessons even today. It is a reminder of the possibilities for underdogs with adversities and the power of motivation on the outcome.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

No Kid Hungry is one of my favorite organizations because its goal is to make sure children do not need to worry about where their next meal is coming from. By meeting this need, children can focus on developing and learning about the world.

How do you recharge?

Despite how busy life can be as a mom, clinician, and wife, I try my best to build in ways to recharge so I can show up being my best self. I like to catch up with friends, try out new restaurants, and explore nature.

Do you have any pets?

Ever since I was a child, I have grown up surrounded by pets. At one point in my life, we had 3 dogs, a cat, a fish, a hedgehog, a squirrel, and a turtle. Currently, I have a little dog. In graduate school, I actually wrote my dissertation on how to incorporate dogs in therapy.
