My therapy style focuses on empowerment. Often our societal norms attempt to categorize individuals in ways which we often don’t fit exactly. Many clients come to therapy feeling as if parts of their lives are a bit “out of control”. Empowerment and mutually agreed upon methods help give a person back that sense of control. My clients learn to replace disappointment and inadequacy with a deeper understanding of their thoughts and feelings. The process develops skills to promote confidence and the ability to overcome situations that once were baffling.
I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coupled with Psycho-dynamic exploration to help clients overcome their challenges and gain strength to pursue their life’s ambition. I use simple, pragmatic methods to mitigate stress, anxiety, and depression caused by their life events. Trauma, substance abuse, failed or failing relationships, and burnout are a few examples. My clients receive empathy, validation, and practical interventions on their way to discovering strengths that promote a healthy and empowered self. Such experiences may be part of our lives, but they do not hold the final say in who we are or what we want to be. Our value is intrinsic, and we are worth the investment.

I enjoy playing guitar, friends and family, model railroads, and muscle cars.
Prayer and meditation.
The Bible. Its the best example I know of showing human beings at their best and their worst. It is a great source for personal growth and provides practical wisdom for everyday life.
Alamo Community Church. The organization has a local and local global focus. They provide consistent support for underprivilege people especially in the areas of food, shelter, and education. They do so without regard to the individuals beliefs or any expectation of membership.
I recharge daily with prayer and meditation. Exercise weekly via walking or yard work. I also engage in "Tractor Therapy"! My yard has a significant number of large rocks that are a great resource for landscaping. The tractor provides me and avenue to be creative and reduce stress.
We have two Miniature Pinschers named Boris and Natasha after the Russian Spies featured in the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon series.
