MA - Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, Pepperdine University
I grew up in a family where I ended up taking on the role of mediator and a person who tried to "fix" things, and I tended to be a person that people would come to when they were struggling. When I took an Advanced Placement course on Psychology when I was in high school, it was the first time I had exposure to a subject that I immediately wanted to learn more and more. I have had my own experience with therapy helping with my anxiety during college. These experiences led me to get my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and then pursue a career as a therapist. I love learning about people, hearing their stories, and joining someone on the journey of building a life that is fulfilling and feels purposeful.
I love being at home and in my yard with my husband and 2 dogs. I love being in nature, whether that is hiking, camping in the mountains, or paddle boarding in the ocean. I love to read fiction.
Building and maintaining daily habits in which I am doing things that are rejuvenating and support my well-being can be challenging. No matter what, though, I always take some time to cuddle with and pet my dogs. I also have small morning and evening routines that help me start my day and end my day with some ease and comfort.
I am all about finding balance and find it important to pay attention to what my body and mind need. Sometimes, that is relaxation and having a day that is unplanned at home. Sometimes, that is getting outside, getting active, going to the beach, and being in nature.
