Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

It was a calling that found me.

What are your interests outside of work?

Traveling, gardening, animals, cooking, reading, and being with family.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I take breaks throughout the day. I also take time to decompress at the end of the day by reading or listening to an audiobook.

What book have you read more than once?

Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty. I have an abundance of wisdom and each time I read it the information spoke to me in a different way depending on where I was in that season of life.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

IAPMD because they are actively working to educate and raise awareness about premenstrual dysphoric disorder within the mental health, medical, and mainstream communities.

How do you recharge?

By taking "mommy days" where I get to go to dinner and a movie with myself.

Do you have any pets?

I have two cats currently, but was raised with horses, dogs, cats, and, at one time, a rat. My favorite pet story is having one of my cats from childhood come home after being missing for almost two weeks. She was missing a few teeth and looked like she fought off a coyote, but she made it!
