My Therapy Style

Major life transitions like new jobs, new relationships, or significant losses, can require more from you than you could ever imagine. Many of us have come to a point where we can benefit from additional professional support. As a first-generation Latinx, I know first-hand the unique strength and resilience it takes to navigate life changes in an ever-evolving world. My years of training and real-life experience in developing resilience have led me to be passionate and committed to helping others find their resilience within.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

A combination of life experiences and a passion for helping others led me to become a mental health professional. I learned early in my adult life that there is tremendous power in healing our inner child through processing past trauma and building upon our ability to be resilient. In the years of practicing as a mental health professional, I have been able to see how through my training and own healing process, I can be of critical support to others looking to increase their quality of life and once again regain balance in their daily lives.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my two children, as well as planning vacations and self-care days with my partner. He is a musician and is constantly sharing with me new music from all parts of the world. I look forward to spending time in nature, specifically taking in panoramic views from a Duffy boat out on the open water.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Alma Family Services has been servicing families in East Los Angeles, CA since 1975. They are not only a community mental health agency but also have several community-based programs like a youth mentoring program and a community ambassador program that hires individuals from the local community who serve as peer supports. Alma Family Services started as an organization that worked with individuals with special needs and continues to build on that mission to help families with a wide range of needs.

How do you recharge?

The balance between all aspects of myself is important. I am a wife, a mom, a friend, a professional, and all those roles can be demanding. I try to ensure that I have fun and exciting things on my calendar to look forward to. Whether it be a meet-up for brunch, bonding over a warm latte, a spa date, or simply hanging out, my loved ones help me refill my cup. I enjoy a break from the daily routine and make sure that I have self-care days with loved ones or alone that allow me to recharge and be the best version of myself day in and day out.
