Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I was not attracted to being a therapist until I did my practicum (I was in my Clinical Psychology Master's program at CSU Fullerton) and saw the meaningfulness of allowing youth to be seen and heard. I had intended to immediately go into a Ph.D. program so I could teach and conduct research, but I was driven to support our youth and families who were struggling. I am driven to support and provide space for others so they can lead the life they want to live.

What are your interests outside of work?

Yoga, food, reading, traveling, hiking, anything with water, friends, and family, and working on my self-growth.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

What book have you read more than once?

Harry Potter because I love the way grief, resilience, and diversity is explored. Born a Crime by Trevor Noah because I love how he uses humor and humility to be resilient. The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk because it is important to understand current trauma research and treatments.
