Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional to be able to help individuals when they're in a time of need. Mental health can be debilitating and stigmatizing; however, I have realized that support can go a long way in helping individuals during periods of stress.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am a father and I love sports. I believe some of the messages that are given in sports can be helpful and at times therapeutic. Coaches can be great motivators in helping people reach their full potential by helping individuals enhance their strengths.

How do you recharge?

I focus on myself by listening to podcasts on sports. I believe this allows me to distract myself and recharge from the daily stresses of life. There are positive messages in the sports podcasts while also incorporating humor. This allows me to destress with the use of laughter and distraction.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I own a 12-year-old Pug named Precious. Precious was the first pet that was completely mine. Precious showed me the importance of responsibility. Having Precious prepared me slightly to become a parent of 3 children. We consider Precious our oldest child, but at times she acts like our youngest running around and getting in mischief.
