My Therapy Style

I am passionate about supporting clients by drawing on personal strengths and resilience to empower positive self-care.

I utilize an evidence-based approach to care, conceptualizing from a biopsychosocial lens and drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to inform treatment. I strive to build collaborative, empathetic, and goal-oriented relationships with clients, focused on improving quality of life and well-being.

I specialize in stress, mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment/life transitions, women's health, health behavior change, sleep disorders, weight management, chronic pain management, and sexual functioning. In addition, I have expertise in working with individuals during pregnancy and postpartum, including grief following pregnancy loss, mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment to pregnancy and postpartum, and co-occurring medical concerns throughout the reproductive period.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional because I am passionate about helping others achieve their mental and physical health goals. I value building strong, collaborative relationships to enact meaningful change in people's lives so that they can optimize their overall well-being. As a psychologist, I have the privilege of extending empathy, sharing skills, and supporting people as they pursue a valued life. I also have the opportunity to address the stigma about mental health in marginalized and underserved populations, which is both personally and professionally fulfilling.

What are your interests outside of work?

My primary interest outside of work is traveling! Whether to a faraway destination or a town close to home, I love exploring new places, meeting new people, and experiencing culture and history through art and food. Additionally, I enjoy cooking new recipes and spending time with my tight-knit family. If it's about people, places, or food, you're likely to find me there!

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

One thing I make sure to do daily is get a good night's sleep. Both my work and personal experience have taught me the power and importance of sleep. I value feeling refreshed and rejuvenated at the start of the day, and know that I feel better mentally and physically when I have a good sleep routine.

How do you recharge?

A few of my favorite ways to recharge include gardening, physical activity, and reading a great book. Tending to my garden helps me connect with nature and gives me a profound sense of peace and satisfaction. I also enjoy most forms of physical activity, including hiking, swimming, biking, and skiing. When my body is tired and needs a good rest, curling up with a great book is just what my mind and muscles need!
