Therapy Style

Each person has an internal struggle. This struggle is something that makes you feel vulnerable and at times you have people to talk to you about it and other times you did not. Therapy is a wonderful opportunity for you to open up in a safe environment so that you're able to process your internal world in a logical manner. Depending on the issue I utilize Family Systems theory, motivational interviewing, and solution-based therapy to help you sort through what's bugging you and developing a comprehensive plan to make some personal changes. I provide practical advice for real life issues. Over the past 20 years, I have enjoyed working with multiple types of families and individuals and look forward to getting to know you and supporting your journey on this path.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Listening is a lost art. In the mental health profession, I have a opportunity to hear a person's story, provide empathy and hope. This investment in people keeps me inspired.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy hiking and exploring nature on my off time. Taking time to relax my mind is my favorite self-care.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Although hard to fit in daily, regular exercise and connection with the people in my life keeps me recharged and at my best.

What book have you read more than once?

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. Life is not as complicated as we make it.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I am aligned with Heifer International who provides farm animals to needy families worldwide as an investment to improve quality of life.

How do you recharge?

I love to go to Magic Mountain for the day.
