Though you may begin therapy feeling low or nervous, I aim to remind you of the resilience and skills you already possess, while helping you discover new ways to look at and tackle obstacles.

My Therapy Style

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and interactive. After an initial assessment, I may start by providing information about different therapy techniques and why they may be helpful for your concerns. I also start from a place of strength — though you may begin therapy feeling low or nervous, I aim to remind you of the resilience and skills you already possess, while helping you discover new ways to look at and tackle obstacles. I’m a fan of handouts and worksheets, and may encourage you to do practice exercises between sessions to work on the skills you’re learning.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I’ve always had a passion for helping and supporting others, but was not sure what that might look like in a career. Then, in my mid-20s, I experienced a personal tragedy and needed space to process the loss. With the right therapist, I began to speak freely about my fears, sadness, and uncertainty about the future. I learned a lot about myself and my own patterns which allowed me to make better decisions for my life and career. In the process, I realized that being a therapist would allow me to support others while also tapping into my natural strengths and interests. I hope to give to clients what I received from therapy: safety, resilience, clarity, and an increased sense of life satisfaction.

What are your interests outside of work?

Running, crossword puzzles, reading, going out to try new restaurants.

What book have you read more than once?

No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre. I enjoy plays in general, and this one's wittiness and existential exploration is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I am an animal lover and donate regularly to the North Shore Animal League as well as smaller local pet rescue organizations.

How do you recharge?

Running or spin classes, reading with a cup of tea, cuddling with my cat.

Do you have any pets?

I have a cat named Smoochie. She loves to make her presence known while I'm working, so you might see her joining our sessions sometimes for extra support and a dose of cuteness.
