The role I play as a therapist is that of a listener, a collaborative problem solver, and a teacher/coach to help you better understand yourself and learn skills to regulate your emotions and behaviors.

My Therapy Style

With over 10 years of clinical experience, my warm, gentle, and compassionate personality mixed with a "let's call it what it is" twist in sessions has helped me to work effectively with a wide range of adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transition, to relationship and communication problems. My role as a therapist is that of a listener, a collaborative problem solver, and a teacher/coach to help you better understand yourself and learn skills to regulate your emotions and behaviors. I gravitate towards a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and eye-movement de-sensitization reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice because each client is unique in their walk of life and there is no one-size-fits-all therapy.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Starting from a young age, life had a way of drawing me close to those who were in pain. My compassion and non-judgmental perspective on life and people allowed people to open up freely to me. What are your interests outside of work?

I love spending time and traveling with my husband and two dogs.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Take a mindful walk.

What book have you read more than once?

Atomic Habits by James Clear. It has changed my life in the way I perceive building healthy habits.

How do you recharge?

I travel to the mountains or ocean to break away from all the hustle and bustle of life.
