Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I love people and helping them to navigate periods of struggle, which are common to us all.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy hiking and being outside as much as possible. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and love cooking for them. I love to read, just about anything, play the piano, and listen to music.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I try to spend time outside each day moving my body and also doing some simple breathing exercises.

What book have you read more than once?

Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl is one of my favorite books because it illustrates that meaning can be found, or created, out of the most difficult of circumstances. I find it inspirational and helpful during periods of struggle.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

The International Justice Mission helps millions around the world escape slavery and trafficking. This has been a favorite non-profit for a long time because its mission is essential.

How do you recharge?

Breathing exercises, spending time outside, and doing something creative help me to move into a calmer space

Do you have any pets?

I have a Cairn terrier named Pip who seems to think he’s a cat. He loves to relax by cuddling up right on top of me!
