My Therapy Style

Do you struggle with managing your emotions and mood? Have you experienced a traumatic event? Do you struggle to fit into social settings? Do intrusive thoughts cause a daily impairment in your life? Are you unhappy with a relationship or grieving a loss? Do you find yourself feeling in a down or low mood? Does anxiety appear to rule your life? I would like to support you in finding a balanced life. I am confident that you can and will get to a better place.

Therapy is meant to meet the client where they are. None of us are built the same, and for that reason, therapeutic approaches are most effective when treatment is individualized.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Working alongside professionals in the workplace, I came to learn that there was a need for culturally sensitive therapists who understand and identify with similar struggles within their own lives at some time or another. I strive to make therapy a positive and welcoming experience for anyone who questions the relevance of therapy.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I like a well-prepared, expresso-inspired ice coffee with all the bells and whistles of flavored syrups, drizzles, and whipped cream, kicks my day off to a great start!!!

What book have you read more than once?

A Child Called It. This book pulls at my heartstrings. It is a true story written by an adult sharing his life as an abused child. It is a captivating book that gives you an inside look into what it is like to experience physical abuse at the hands of your parents. This book is followed by a second book entitled, A Man Named Dave. These two books remind me that no matter what life throws at me, I am resilient and can overcome anything. Reading books such as these keeps me humble and appreciative of my life.

How do you recharge?

I consider myself a food connoisseur of sorts and strive to be proficient in cooking traditional food of as many cultures I come into contact with. My calm and peace are found in the kitchen as I perfect recipes while listening to and singing verses of my favorite songs.
