My therapy style is warm, practical, and nonjudgmental. I have found that leading with authenticity and reserving judgment is key to building a safe, therapeutic relationship that will be the foundation for our work together. I prioritize your individual perspective and experiences and tailor our sessions to serve both your overarching goals and your needs in the moment.

My approach to therapy is rooted in traditional psychodynamic practice while incorporating skills specifically targeted at supporting you in reaching your goals. Why did you become a mental health professional?

After spending a decade working in film and television, I found that going to therapy helped me process what I wanted out of life and what I wanted to do differently. As it turns out, going through that process showed me just how meaningful therapy can be, and inspired me to help others make changes to their own lives in meaningful, effective ways.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I try to have 20 minutes of quiet to myself daily, whether that's in the morning before I see clients or in the evening before bed. Quiet sometimes feels like a luxury and helps me recenter myself.

What book have you read more than once?

I have read Nora Ephron's I Remember Nothing and I Feel Bad About My Neck multiple times. Her voice and personality come through so brightly in her essays, and the layers of humor and seriousness in her work resonate with me.

How do you recharge?

I tend to prefer quiet activities when I'm feeling stressed and in need of recharging. My favorite thing to do is to have a massage, because it's a length of time where in spite of any stressors or worries I am forced to be still, quiet, and physically relaxed.
