Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have a genuine interest in understanding someone's journey. I love being a psychologist because it allows me to walk alongside and support others who are struggling, want change, or may be facing barriers in their lives. I am committed to listening and meeting clients where they are and collaborating. I value emotional development and acceptance and integrate that into my work.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love family vacations at the beach, hiking, and baseball.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Walks, checking in with myself, deep breaths.

What book have you read more than once?

Rain of Gold, by Victor Villasenor, it was the first book I was assigned in college that talked about the experiences of an immigrant family. It felt so affirming to see those family experiences and values in a published book.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Hand in Paw Rescue. I am a dog lover and have learned that local shelters are facing an overpopulation crisis. Rescue organizations step in to save lives.

How do you recharge?

I spend time with those I love, watching dramas, going on walks with my dogs, and listen to music as much as I can.

Do you have any pets?

I have two pets, a 12-year-old rescue named Sammie, who is my sweet girl, knows what she wants, and loves her walks. I also have a Pug named Gibson who is so fun and loyal and is the first puppy I've fully raised.
