I have always understood the importance of mental health to overall wellbeing and satisfaction in life. After going through my own struggles and recognizing the usefulness of tools that were taught to me, I want to pay-it-forward to others to help them live their best lives.
I love reading, walking, and exploring new places with my dog, finding fun new places to eat, and working in my garden with my chickens and bees!
I spend as much time outside as I can, even if it's just a few minutes on a really busy day to breath some fresh air.
Shoutout to ASPPIRE of Mid-Michigan! They are a wonderful disability services organization that I've worked with many times in the past, and the people there are so caring and work so hard to help those with disabilities lead more meaningful adult lives. They are always willing to listen to what their community says they need, and then do what they can to provide services that actually meet those needs. I couldn't be more proud to work alongside those individuals.
Spending time in my garden reading, walking in a forest preserve, or stealing some moments away at the lake to sit on the boat and relax.
I have a dog named Floki who is an Australian Shepherd mix, and one of my favorite stories about him is a time when we were in a cabin in Michigan and it was snowing, and he refused to come inside. When we went to check on him, he was partially buried in the snow, letting it fall all over him, and looked like he couldn't be happier! It was hard to get him in the cabin that night.
