I prioritize listening to my clients and providing a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and emotions.

My Therapy Style

I take an integrationist approach to therapy and adjust my therapeutic stance according to my client’s needs. I prioritize listening to my clients and providing a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and emotions.

I have worked in a wide range of settings, including college counseling, hospitals, and correctional settings, which has given me an appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and lifestyles. These experiences have taught me that although we all have our struggles and make mistakes, we are each deserving of care and compassion. My hope is to help people feel understood, valued, and accepted, no matter their background or situation.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

When I was in college, I became particularly passionate about issues surrounding trauma after hearing the stories of my friends and classmates who were sexually assaulted. I realized then how important mental health services were, and decided that this was a worthy career to pursue. I wanted to have the skills to help people who have experienced trauma. I then volunteered for a domestic violence shelter to ascertain whether this was truly the career I wanted to devote my life to, and although hearing the stories of these people broke my heart, they only solidified my resolve to become a psychologist.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am a dabbler in many hobbies. My outdoor activities include scuba diving, backpacking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, and snorkeling. I also have a penchant for arts and crafts, including crocheting, knitting, and felting. I have also recently begun to enjoy baking.

How do you recharge?

It depends! I often enjoy going out and spending time with friends. I feel most fulfilled when I have meaningful connections with other people in my community. On other days I just need to decompress with some alone time at home.

Do you have any pets?

I currently have one cat and one dog. One of my favorite stories is about our dog, who used to hate people touching his paws because his brother used to bite them. With the power of food motivation, I managed to teach him to shake and therefore feel comfortable with his paws getting touched. Now when he is asked to "shake," he almost aggressively throws both his paws at people so he can get his treat faster. I think this is both hilarious and heartwarming, as it is both ridiculous to watch, as well as a sign that he is overcoming his trauma.
