There are times in our lives when we can benefit from having a therapist to help guide us through various life challenges. I approach my work with individuals by developing a therapeutic alliance and work collaboratively towards their treatment goals. My focus is to help individuals work through their unresolved issues that may be interfering in their present lives, reduce negative emotions, identify and build on their strengths, increase insight/awareness of themselves, and develop positive coping skills they can use to successfully manage life stressors. My therapeutic approach is eclectic depending on the needs of the individual however, I often incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) which I have observed to be very effective in promoting positive change and growth.

My interests outside of work include drawing, oil painting, cooking/baking, watching movies, and dinners with friends/family.
I practice meditation/mindfulness as self-care.
The Power of Myth. I find it fascinating how Joseph Campbell describes how myths are related to the human psyche and that myths are cultural manifestations of our universal need to explain the human experiences we go through.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) is my favorite non-profit because animals are helpless and vulnerable to neglect/abuse.
I draw, oil paint, cook/bake, and meditate.
I had a pet dog named Mochi. She was on a heavy chain tied to a dog house in someone's front yard. I'd drive pass by and see that she was always tied up even when it was raining and cold during the winter. It was unbearable for me to watch so I approached the house on two different occasions and spoke with the owner asking if they'd let me keep her and that I'd take very good care of her, but they refused. On the third try, I offered $60 to have her and they agreed. She was my first pet and I called her Mochi because she reminded me of a cute, Japanese dessert. She was initially shaking and very scared however, eventually she developed trust in me, and was free spirited and full of love.
