My Therapy Style

Congratulations on taking the first step on your journey towards well-being. I am a compassionate and dedicated psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with adults and adolescents. I guide individuals on their journey toward self-discovery, empowerment, and personal growth. I believe in the resilience and strength of every individual, and my client-centered approach ensures that each person's unique qualities and values are at the forefront of the therapeutic process. Using a variety of modalities, I can help you with a variety of issues and help you gain important skills. In our sessions, we can work on creating healthier thinking and behavior as well as adopting positive coping strategies, so that you can achieve lasting change and decrease suffering.

I also provide individuals with practical skills to manage intense emotions, improve communication, and foster mindfulness. In doing so, clients can develop present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance. We will focus on your strengths and can harness your inner potential, overcoming great challenges. With a warm and empathetic demeanor, I create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I work closely with my clients, fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and mutual respect.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and trauma using evidenced-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Somatic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. In our sessions, you can expect a safe and non-judgmental space where your experiences are met with empathy, validation, and a deep respect for your inherent value and self-worth. If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-exploration and healing, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional because I truly believe that I have a natural ability to empathize and understand people. I have been through many challenges in my life and also bring to the table live experience that helps me to guide clients.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am an avid Pickleball player and play competitively. Also, love spending time with my grandchildren and attending their sporting events right now it is soccer. I also love spending time with my dogs and taking them for walks.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I have a daily mindfulness practice that I believe aids in, resetting me when I get stressed and helps me to have a good work-life balance

What book have you read more than once?

I have read The Four Agreements on multiple occasions I have gifted this to many friends that if we could all attempt to live by these agreements would be much happier and content in life.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite organization nonprofit is the Asher House. It is an animal dog rescue.

How do you recharge?

I recharge by playing Pickleball not only does it stimulate me physically it also is very social and the social and physical combination helps me recharge for sure!

Do you have any pets?

I have five dogs two of which I recently rescued with the intent of finding families for them. Well, I found a family it’s at my house (ha ha!) I got too attached to them and couldn’t let them go. I guess I am a foster failure. My favorite story is last Christmas my then one-year-old silver Labrador was left home alone for a couple of hours on Christmas Eve. I left the Christmas tree and all the wrapped presents behind a secured gate. When I came home, I found the gate knocked over and all of my Christmas presents that were nicely wrapped opened, ripped, and torn apart. Fortunately, nothing was completely ruined, but it was a big mess and obviously, my gate wasn’t as secure as I thought it was.
