Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

After over a decade invested in my marketing career, I decided I wanted to do something that was more meaningful and fulfilling — something that made a positive impact in people's lives. I have always had a passion for helping others and wanted to make a difference. People always would come to me with their problems, and I've always been curious and loved learning about people, so it was the perfect career choice for me.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my daughter and watching her compete in sports. I love traveling to new places, but especially traveling to my favorite beach destinations during the cold Northeast winters. I like to be creative and create self-help videos during my free time, take courses to learn more treatment modalities, exercise, and spend time outdoors in nature (walking, boating, hiking, etc.)

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Some form of exercise, whether it be cardio, breathing, stretching, or somatic exercises.

What book have you read more than once?

The Alchemist, I love all of the inspirational messages. It's a book everyone should read. :)

Favorite organization/non-profit?

NAMI is my favorite organization because it is dedicated to improving the lives of millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI has a strong community presence in cities and towns throughout the country raising awareness, providing advocacy, support, and education that was not previously available to those in need.

How do you recharge?

Going on vacation, taking a bath, spending time in nature, and having quality alone time.

Do you have any pets?

I have two cats - a boy, Shadow, and a girl, Cupcake who love each other. My cat, Cupcake, fetches her toys like a dog and can jump several feet high. She's so adorable and loving, but also loves human food. I can't leave out any type of food in a container because she will find a way to open it and eat it.
