My goal in therapy is to create a safe space for my clients to feel empowered to process life’s challenges and develop effective skills to tackle those challenges.

My Therapy Style

Welcome! I congratulate you on taking this step of seeking therapy and I look forward to learning about you and your unique life experiences. As Bessel van der Kolk once said, “Therapy is a way to connect with your inner wisdom and to find your own path to healing.” I believe each client holds the key to their own healing process and I am here to hold the space and provide support. My goal in therapy is to create a safe space for my clients to feel empowered to process life’s challenges and develop effective skills to tackle those challenges. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, supportive, collaborative, and empathetic.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I did not always know I wanted to be a psychotherapist; however, I was always empathetic to others’ struggles and was compassionate about wanting to listen and help. Once I became aware of my own strengths, I was able to pursue my passion for wanting to support and foster positive change in people's lives.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy going for long walks while I listen to classical music. I also believe laughter is a powerful medicine so I try my best to attend comedy shows as often as I can.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I get up early in the morning and drink my coffee before the rest of my family is up.

What book have you read more than once?

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby van Pelt. I do not want to spoil the book but it is one of those that one does not want to put down.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Million Little is a nonprofit organization that utilizes art and creativity to support children and families in processing and healing from traumatic experiences.

How do you recharge?

I recharge by turning on music and unwinding. Movement also helps me recharge, especially after sitting at my desk for long hours, so I tend to either go out for a walk or take a Pilates class.
