Why did you become a mental health professional?

I noticed, early on in life, that mental health was something people would shy away from discussing, and I also noticed, through my own struggles, the importance of discussing it. I was helped tremendously by therapy as a child and also as an adult. I value personal growth, which I feel is driven by the relationship one has with themselves and others.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like to run Spartan Races, weight lifting, ghost hunting, watching soccer, spending time with my cats and husband. I am Vegan and an animal rights activist.

What book have you read more than once?

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, because it reminds me of the human condition as a whole, how much resilience we are capable of, and how powerful our thoughts can be.

Do you have any pets?

I have three beautiful children (my cats). My oldest is 15 and her name is Minx, my middle child is 13-year-old Spock, and my baby is 7 and his name is Papi. There are so many stories I don't know which one to pick, but the thing that comes to mind is when I created an Instagram (by request of my friends) for Papi because he is such a performer. Overnight he had almost 1500 followers!
