Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I wanted to help people better understand themselves and help them develop the skills to reach the highest potential and live fulfilling lives.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love studying and understanding fashion. I find it fascinating how a single piece of clothing can change our perception of ourselves. Consequently, I recently earned two degrees from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing).

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I adhere to being part of the 5am Club. I wake up early, exercise, engage in self-education, and identify the goals I most meaningful to me for the day. Getting up early in the morning is a preliminary win. Also, my friend and I share our OOTD (outfit of the day). I believe what we wear is a representation of our personality and how we feel. I love hearing what made someone else choose the clothing they wear and how it makes them feel.

What book have you read more than once?

What Every Body Is Saying, by Joe Navarro. This book along with training from Mr. Navarro helped me better understand what our non-verbal body language says about our current state along with why we engage in the behaviors we do.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I am donate regularly to organizations such as PETA and the SPCA. Protecting animals and advocating for their welfare is a important part of my life.

How do you recharge?

I love watching Hallmark Christmas movies. While the ending may be predictable, there is something enjoyable about watching these movies.

Do you have any pets?

I have 7 cats and 3 dogs who are all rescues. I always find great amusement when my Labrador bring me a stuffed animal it in an effort to barter for food I may be eating.
